Want to DANCE with us?
 
Pokotillo welcomes everyone from ages 6 to adult, physically capable of dancing, with any or no dance experience to come join us.  Our motto is "You don't have to be Ukrainian to love to dance!"
 
Registration for the beginners and intermediates is through the City of Kamloops Parks and Recreation program. 250-828-3500
 
Registration for the teens and adults is by calling: 250-376-1188
 
As well as regularly scheduled classes, dancers need to be able to commit to both practices and performances outside of practice times. 

POKOTILLO OFFERS TWO CLASSES
  • Beginners  and Intermediates -  Wed: 6:00 - 7:30
  • Advanced Teens and Adults  - Thu 7:15 - 8:30

 (Classes take place in various school gyms or community halls)

TWO SEMESTERS:
Sept - Mid-Jan
Beginners and Intermediates: $50
Teens and Adults: by donation
 
Mid-Jan  - July 1
Beginners and Intermediates : $90
Teens and Adults: by donations
Workshop fees extra

PRACTICE WEAR:
Loose comfortable exercise clothing where instructors can see feet (no jeans or baggy, long sweats), hair pulled off face.  Proper dance wear such as ballet leotard and tights or Pokotillo t-shirts and tights are suggested for practice.
 
FOOTWEAR:
Dancers are responsible for their own practice and performance footwear:  Leather dance slippers for practice.  Red ballet shoes (girls), black leather ballet or jazz slippers (boys), red dance boots (adults) for performances.
 
COSTUMES:
The Ukrainian Orthodox Community in Kamloops graciously lends the group some of the costumes they use and Pokotillo owns the rest.
 
Pokotillo rents out club costumes for a low cost of $10.00/dancer/year.   Adult dancers are responsible for their own Poltava costume.  Costumes must be returned laundered at the end of each year.
